Our Partners, Our Power

At Young Creators Arts & Enrichment, partnerships are more than just collaborations — they’re the heartbeat of our impact. From our earliest days to where we are now, every step forward has been powered by the incredible support of organizations and individuals who believe in the transformative power of arts, storytelling, and youth development.

Whether through space, funding, mentorship, or shared programming, our partners have helped us create safe, empowering, and imaginative spaces for young people to grow, express, and lead.

We are proud to have worked with organizations such as

  • Coaching Detroit Forward (CDF)

  • Riverwise Magazine

  • Allied Media Projects

  • Triumph Church

  • Gerrard Allen from Black Excellence

  • Ron Lee from The Yunion

Each of these collaborations has left a meaningful mark on our journey — and the lives of the youth we serve.

As we look to the future, we remain committed to building intentional, purpose-driven partnerships that uplift our mission and expand our reach. Together, we can continue to amplify young voices, cultivate creative leadership, and strengthen communities through the arts.

A Partnership Rooted in Purpose

Our most impactful partnership began in 2017, when Sacred Overstreet-Amos and Stephanie Steinberg met as fellows at the Build Institute. Both passionate about the arts, they quickly bonded over a shared vision: to create meaningful, creative spaces for Detroit’s youth.

Stephanie, a journalist, would go on to launch The Detroit Writing Room, a hub for writers and creatives to connect and learn. Sacred, already three years into running Young Creators Arts & Enrichment’s summer photography camp, soon became one of DWR’s first photography coaches.

To make creative coaching accessible for all Detroit youth, Stephanie launched the nonprofit Coaching Detroit Forward (CDF). Thanks to funding partnerships—especially with the Fisher Foundation—CDF has supported free workshops and camps for hundreds of students. In 2019, when Sacred needed space to host her summer camp, the partnership deepened. Young Creators' photography camp officially became part of CDF’s programming—and five years later, the impact continues to grow.

Through this partnership, students not only learn photography from working professionals, but also develop self-confidence and a strong creative voice. Their work is published annually in Perspectives Magazine and displayed in community exhibits. Many go on to start photography businesses, contribute to school media, or pursue creative careers in college.

Together, Coaching Detroit Forward and Young Creators Arts & Enrichment are empowering the next generation of artists, leaders, and storytellers.
